How Much?

For your convenience we accept cash, cheque, most debit and credit cards (but not American Express). We do not currently provide NHS services.

Consultation, examination and treatment (if appropriate) is £50 (this is the same day payment rate), we do not charge separately for consultation and treatment on the first visit, it's £50 in total.

Follow-up treatments are £35 each (this is the same day payment rate). We will never ask/pressure you to prepay for large blocks of treatment. (see "second opinion" service for full details).

We can safely treat the majority of problems that we see without x-rays or MRI scans on the first visit. If you are not suitable for chiropractic treatment you will normally referred back to your GP or the appropriate consultant, most commonly a consultant orthopaedic surgeon.

All payments on account (those who do not settle payment on the same day as treatment), consultation £60, follow-up treatments are £43 each.

MRI scans from £200.

Expect to spend 45-60 minutes with us on your first visit as there is paperwork to complete, if you need reading glasses be sure to bring them along.

If you have had previous x-rays or MRI scans please bring along the CD/films and if possible a copy of the "radiology report" from your GP/consultant, this is the report that the consultant radiologist completes outlining the finding of the x-rays or MRI scans. If you are bringing a CD of x-rays or MRI's please let us know when you book the appointment so we can have a laptop available in the room.

I Want To Claim Private Insurance

We are happy to bill your insurer directly as long as we receive the following items from you but you will incur a higher rate if the insurer does not settle payment with us the same day as each treatment is incurred. We must have all three of these items for direct billing;

  1. A copy of your policy number and authorisation number from your insurer together with their billing address.
  2. A copy of the referral letter from your GP or consultant so we can let them know how you are doing.
  3. A copy of the letter from your insurer stating any policy excess or percentage of co-payment that you are responsible for together with the number of treatment sessions authorised or monetary limit, for example; A policy limit of £1000 or 12 treatments.

If you need our AXA/PPP or BUPA provider numbers please call the reception on 01702-342329. Many insurers will just need our GCC registration numbers which is 00531 for Lester Brayham and 00538 for Jennifer Stengler.

If you would like to pay for your treatment and claim the costs back from your insurer yourself settling your account on the same day as the treatment is incurred, you will be charged our lower rates (£50 consultation/treatment and £35 per treatment after that). We will provide you with an itemised receipt for your insurer.

Note to Insurers:

We offer both our rates to insurance companies and solicitors. If you are an insurer or solicitor and would like to take advantage of the lower same day payment rate you can have your clients pay us as they go and they can claim the fees back from yourself. The other option is to agree on a number of treatments with us and send payment drectly to us in advance of any treatment taking place (Please make cheque payable to L Brayham). We will then issue you with a receipt and with your clients consent we will also inform you of their outcome/response to treatment in the form of a written report just as we would normally would to the patients GP/consultant.

Save yourself some time:

Download our two intake forms, print them off and complete them being as detailed as possible. Then bring them along to your first appointment.

Patient history form. Please carefully fill this out and shade in areas of complaint on the pain diagram. Then indicate whether you consent or not to us contacting your GP should we need to. Please be thorough as approximately one in 15 people that we see we need to refer back to their GP because of complicating health reasons. We need to make sure that it's safe to treat you.

Baseline outcome questionnaire form. If we don't know where we have been we don't know where we are going. This gives us a better understanding of how your pain is affecting your quality of life. We do these at regular intervals to measure how your are improving.
